In Literacy will focus on Persuasive Writing, Poetry and Narrative as well as learning the script for our Christmas Play. More details to follow on this.

In Maths we will be working on Subtraction and Measurement.

Welcome to Year 4

We hope you had a wonderful Summer and are feeling well-rested after the holiday.

The children have made a super start to life in Year 4.  We are well under way with our topic: How do I see and how do I hear?  We also look forward to the homework we have set linked to the topic - something creative - due in by Friday 20th October 2017.

As last year, we expect the children to learn their weekly spellings (test on Fridays) and continue learning their times tables (up to 12x12 by the end of Year 4).

We have swimming this half term on Mondays and PE on Tuesdays with either Mr Parsons or Mr M.  Please can we remind you that your child needs to have their PE kit in school for those days.

We expect the children to read 4 times a week (or more) and record this in their home-school contact books.

If there is anything you would like to discuss with either of us, please try and catch us before or after school or make an appointment through the office.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Fiona Doidge and Mrs Jo Harris
