Hello and welcome to the Year 3 BFG class page! We will be sharing with you regularly about the news and events that we get up to in school, as well as provide notices for upcoming events. We are now into our final term in Year 3 and have enjoyed many activities and events in KS2 already! The children are developing independence and maturity which will help them for the rest of KS2.
Our theme for this half term is 'How can we make living here better for everyone?'. This is fantastic last topic as the children will be learning a bucket load of information, past, present and future of Wellington, where the majority of children live! We will be exploring the town's buildings, transport, new developments and how we can make changes in Wellington to improve the town. We will be having visitor from Town Planners and residents who have created history books of the the town. We hope this will develop children's knowledge and respect for the town they live in, as well as knowing that they can also make a difference!
The children have started swimming lessons and will be assessed regularly. Please ensure swimming kits are in school every Monday.
Our PE sessions will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday so please make sure the children have their PE kits with them at all times in case of an impromptu lesson.
Forest School is every other Tuesday. It is very important your children have separate outdoor clothing and shoes to their PE kits, as it will be muddy in these Summer months. We have a number of children without them and adults then have to chase clothing or try to provide a spare, which is very limited. If they do not have their clothing, they will not be able to join in.
If there is anything you would like to discuss with myself then please do not hesitate to pop in and see me.
CONGRATULATIONS to Ollie Southcott and Victoria Atkin for achieving their Praising Certificates and were publicly praised in assembly in May!
