Every week we use our story bags to help us create stories. There are 5 story bags that each make up a part of the story:
Who? - who or what is the main character in our story?
Where? - where does this character live? What is it like?
Where next? - where does our character go to?
Why? - why does our character travel to this place?
Where last and feelings? - where does our character end up and how do they feel?
Each week a new picture for each bag is put inside for us to explore, except the Why? bag, which is always left blank for us to write! Repeating the same structure every week means that we learn how stories are structured and eventually we will be able to generate our own stories completely on our own!
Can you use the photos to retell our stories from class? Come in and tell us if you can! Why not draw a picture and write a sentence or two about the story?
The written 'why' in the following photos might be different to the one your child remembers because each class generates their own 'why' that relates to their story.
